Goole town’s Remembrance Sunday commemoration parade will begin just before 11am on Sunday November 14.
The parade of veterans, along with military and civilian organisations will march to the Cenotaph were the Last Post will be played and a two-minute silence will be held. There will also be a laying of wreaths at the Cenotaph, with hymns and prayers.
Keith Sacre chairman of the Goole and Howden branch of the Royal British Legion said: “It is very important to remember the men and women of all religions, whose service and sacrifices mean we are able to enjoy the freedoms we have today.” Co-ordinating instructions for the Goole Remembrance Day Parade Sunday, November 14 2021: All members of the Goole community are welcome to attend and n order to ensure efficiency and the smooth running of the parade, contingent commanders are requested to ensure personnel is made aware of the format of the parade and timings. Please emphasise the vast importance of being on time and ready to move. Timings are as follows: 10.10 am All marching contingent personnel arrive at Charter Club: 10.10 am: Yorkshire Corps of Drums form up outside the Charter club 10.20 am: The standard-bearers, Serving Military, Veterans, associations and wheelchairs, Civic, Cadets, civilian organisations, and nominated wreath layers step off. 10.30am: Marching contingents arrive at the cenotaph, the standard-bearers, veterans, associations, wheelchairs, and nominated wreath layers arrive at the cenotaph. 10.45am: Service commences 11.00am: 2-minute silence 11.15am: Service continues including wreath-laying 11.20am: March and return to Charter Club 11.45am: Dismissal Parade.
